New Fan Generated Book Sections In an effort to make our appreciation books more comprehensive and a little more fun, we will be adding a few more fan-generated sections to each of the books. The sections are listed and explained below. If you can give your input to any of the sections it would be greatly appreciated.
I. Fan Designated Erica/Tom/Smallville Day!
This is a very simple section of the book that will only require a few minutes to complete. We are simply asking for suggestions of dates that we can select as honorary Erica/Tom/Smallville days. Each person will get one day. For Erica Durance, for example, I was thinking that September 22nd could be voted as Erica Durance day. The reason is that this is the day the first Lois Lane episode aired and thus the first time many of us saw Erica Durance. This section in the book will only take up one page. The page itself will be blank, with a title on the top being the selected celebratory day, and then a simple explanation beneath it. We'll do the same for all three books, choosing a different date for Tom Welling and then a different date to honor the series in general, maybe we could select the day that AlMiles left. *crickets* Okay, that was a joke, sort of....

So if you have any suggestions for these days just post them here and give us a short explanation as to why that day should be picked to celebrate any one of these people.
II. Question and Answer: Session with the FansThis section will ask fans approximately 6 questions (we may add a few more later) that can be answered in 1 word, 1 sentences, or 1-2 sentences. These are very simple questions yet when we gather enough answers they should make for an impressive presentation in each of these books. Each section shouldn’t take you more than 2-3 minutes!

If anyone has any idea for any
additional questions, please let us know! We’re open to adding at least 4 more questions so we can have 10 questions per book. Just remember that the questions should be simple to answer, the longest answers not being more than 1-2 sentences. If you can think of something fun and creative to ask, we’d appreciate it!
III. 101 Reasons Why We Love...
Our next section will be even easier to put together than the Q&A and will fall under the category of "Fan Extras". In this section, we are simply asking participants to list reasons why they love either Erica Durance, Tom Welling, or the Smallville series. Your answers should be short and no longer than 1 sentence for each person. This section of the book will have approximately 1-2 pages dedicated to it.

IV. Poetry, Acronyms and More
A second section in the "Fan Extras" part of each book will be a section where fans can be creative and add poetry, acronyms and more! Something fun that can be done for each of the books is a simple poem acronym with the names of anyone in the Smallville cast and crew.

You basically use the starting letter of each person's name for a selected word (or phrase) and do that for each letter in the name. The final product is just a fun acronym to read. If you are very creative you can make these either very humorous or very beautiful to read. This is one of the sections I'm looking forward the most to reading.
V. Inspirational Quotes
More than anything this is going to be a "feel good" book for Erica, Tom, and the Smallville cast and crew. Leslie brought up the idea of adding positive, inspirational quotes throughout the book. They can be the same or different for each book, depending on the quote itself. At the end, each quote will be taken and placed on a blank white page in an elegant font and placed every couple of pages throughout each book.

VI. Achievements and Recognition
In this section we will list all the achievements and recognition that Erica, Tom and the Smallville cast has earned throughout the years. If you know of any award, nomination, honor, ect, for any of the Smallville cast please let us know. We'd like to have at least one full page dedicate to this section per book. The most important information for each achievement or recognition is the title and the date.

VI. Positive Quotes
Even though this is a fan project, there have been so many positive things spoken about Erica, Tom, and the Smallville series by official people related to this show or to the media that we think it would be great to add those comments here. The types of comments that you can add are any comments made by producers, writers, directors, cast members, non-SV celebrities, online columnists, reviewers, official bloggers and podcasters, ect who have said anything positive and worth mentioning about Erica, Tom, or the Smallville cast and crew. We won't put a limit to the amount of quotes you can find so the more the better. Ideally, we'd like to dedicate anywhere from 2 to 3 full pages of quotes per book. The format for the quotes will be the following: "Quote." - Author (Source, Date). If certain information is not available that is fine. The minimum you need to post your quote is the quote itself and the person making the quote (author).

Tom Welling - Extra Book SectionAdditionally, Leslie suggested to me to add a special "Director's" section for the Tom Welling book to celebrate his various directorial debuts in Smallville. This can work similar to the general Q&A section for the books where the fans are asked to state their favorite parts of the TW directed episodes. You can give a small paragraph stating what you think of him as a director and why he's impressed you.

Digital E-BookOriginally the intention was to create a digital ebook and share it with all project participants so that everyone could have a copy of what they worked for. Now, we've decided to extend that idea to the cast and crew of Smallville themselves. In order to do this, we will purchase 4 silver 1 Gigabyte USB drives for ED, TW, BP, and KS. Inside these USB drives we will be adding a copy of the digital appreciation books. This way the books can be duplicated and shared FREELY among the rest of the cast and crew. This means that even though only 4 people will get a hardcopy of the book, that every single person of the cast and crew can get a digital copy of the book to be saved on a disc or secondary USB drive. The other great thing about the USB drives is that we can add other fan related material that we could not add to the book (fan art, fan videos, ect).
The USBs will be engraved with each book recepient's name and will also have their initials on the USB cap itself. I personally went to see these at the mall and they're very nice.
Now to make the contents extra special we are encouraging members to send in their arts or any other material that they would like to share with Erica, Tom, or any of the Smallville cast and crew! We're also taking ideas about what else we can add to the USBs to make them very special. Remember that the cool thing about sending a USB drive is that we can add 1GB worth of material inside.
With that in mind, I had originallyl thought about sending Erica and Tom a mixed CD. We are after all "Cloisers" and our ship has the classic mix CD episode. Now, keeping the purchase of the USB in mind, it will be even more practical to the mix CD to the USB itself. What we will do is create a folder inside ED and TW's USB drives that says, "Our Mixed CD 4 You" or something like that and inside we'll select a few music tracks that we'd like to share with either ED or TW. If you have any songs you'd like to suggest, please post them here!
So there you have it! Some additional book sections that I hope everyone will enjoy and give their input on. If anyone has any ideas for
additional book sections, please post them here. We will consider accepting one or two more sections. All we ask is that the sections be simple yet meaningful in some way. They shouldn't take up too many pages and they should be fun to complete and hopefully to be read by TW, ED and the SV cast.
Secondary Project Details Along with the important matters of writing letters, increasing our participation level, and adding to our book layout, we also want to touch upon a few important related matters.

Finally, we also have another member who is working on a special program to be used by DI members on portable devices to better view the forum. This program will be sold exclusively to DI members and 100 percent of the funds will be given to our project.
